Deck
We start with CCA treated 5/8” - 7 ply plywood which is individually inspected for premium quality by experienced craftsmen. If it doesn’t meet our standards, it is not used! The tongue and groove construction features 6063 T-6 heavy duty extended cross members averaging 16 inch centers. The deck is bolted directly to the pontoons (not welded brackets to attach the pontoons to the deck) with 18-8 stainless steel fasteners and nylon inserted lock nuts.

Sundancer’s patented pontoon extrusion and method of assembly combine the best of both worlds (rounds and U-shaped pontoons) for a lifetime of fun and recreation. Each pontoon is pressure tested and inspected for leakage after it is constructed and contains closed cell foam flotation adding that extra “above and beyond” Coast Guard requirements. That back-up system brings peace of mind for you and your family’s safety.

The pontoon nose cones are exclusively constructed. Fins are a fabricated part of the nose cone itself (not tack welded or riveted on) for unequaled strength and lasting durability. The nose cones contain reinforced side panels with fabricated keels and built-in fins to create a double .100

gauge thickness. They are further strengthened by a cross brace and foam filled to create an “above and beyond” any on the market for maximum strength at high stress points. This method of craftsmanship is on every Sundancer regardless of size or series.

Motor Pods
Because your motor is an expensive part of your investment and the driving force of your boat, the motor pod is extremely important. Sundancer’s strong, well designed motor pod features is reinforced and attached directly to the pontoons with an 18-point attachment method. This gives you the solid, well crafted motor pod that will uphold the heavier, larger motors of today. Just take a look at the Sundancer strengthened motor pod.

Sundancer’s Flotation Advantage
We select U-shaped pontoons because they are directly connected with stainless bolts to the deck making it impossible to carry water on top of a U-shaped pontoon. Compare this non-welded method of connection to others, which require supports that are welded to the boat. Our patented extrusion allows us to provide AIRTIGHT pontoons on all Sundancer models.

Sundancer’s pontoons contain high quality closed cell foam flotation.
The addition of this foam supplies added safety and allows the boat to float even if the pontoon is punctured or ripped open.
